Bovington First School is a school that caters for children from Reception up to Year 4.
School begins at 9:00am and finishes at 3:15, although many clubs and activities do continue after these times.
We are lucky to have The Three Bears which offers pre-school education and JAKS afterschool care adjoining our school grounds and we also have very strong links with our local Bovington Nursery in order to provide for the needs of both children and parents.
In an ever changing world our vision is for:
our school to provide a warm and welcoming environment for children, staff, parents and the community, in which all are valued and are inspired to learn. We aim to be a school that has high expectations of its pupils and the adults who work here. Where there is high quality teaching and learning that is enjoyable, exciting and progressive, meeting the demands of the curriculum and challenging the individual child.
We strive hard to be a school that equips children with the skills for their futures.
Aims:
- To tailor the curriculum to individual needs and abilities
- To offer a wide range of learning experiences
- To inspire life long learning
- To develop a happy, caring and safe environment
- To encourage good behaviour
- To celebrate and encourage everyone's talents
- To foster independence, confidence and responsibility
- To value and respect everyone as individuals
- To work in partnership with parents and the community

Over the last few years Bovington First School has worked hard to improve the educational experiences offered to its children. These include providing a better environment to work in with a new kitchen area, library and a 20PC computer suite as well as networked computers and an interactive whiteboard in every classroom. The school has a designated music room with excellent resources and there are opportunities to learn an instrument through provision offered by Dorset Music Service.
